MY STORY.
My story started well before I started studying to become an Accredited Dietitian.
It all started when I was High School, around 2009. I had heard a little about weight loss & dieting: it sounded great! If I could just keep an eye on my weight a bit more, shift it down & be stricter with my diet, I would be well on my way to a happier, healthier & more confident version of me!
I had no idea about weight loss & dieting, so I took to Google to see what I could do. The internet told me to start counting calories (the less, the better), avoid carbs & to weigh myself every day. So I did, and sure the weight started dropping.
I didn’t feel any better about myself though, so I thought I had to do more. Down the rabbit hole I went: comparing my body to models on a runway, picking myself apart because I thought maybe if I was harder on myself, I would be more disciplined. And I was. I restricted more foods, lowered my calories again & strictly monitored absolutely anything that went near my mouth. I stopped seeing friends to avoid meals out & started lying to my family to get out of meal times.
My diet was so strict that I was obsessing over food & my weight constantly. If someone offered me a slice of cake, I would inhale multiple slices at once without even thinking. I would feel so guilty afterwards about losing control around such a bad food that I would restrict even more to make up for it. So the cycle continued & I was completely stuck.
The truth is, I was the most miserable I had ever been. These rigid diet rules promised me the body of my dreams, immense happiness & an incredible sense of self confidence. Instead, I was stuck in a state of depression, isolation & self disgust. I hated everything about myself & the constant need to diet just kept making it worse. Something had to change. So I got help from a team of professionals & thank god I did.
Today, I can say I am the happiest & most self confident I have ever been.

Diet Free Dietitian.
After High School I began University & completed my 4 year degree at the UOW. I graduated with a Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics (Honours) in 2016 & dove straight into the world of Private Practice as an Accredited Practising Dietitian (read more about Dietitian vs. Nutritionist in Australia here).
I worked in over 8 different Private Practice settings before setting out on my own, hiring my own small clinic space in Bondi for what I called Revitalise Nutrition. After 6 years practising I was able to identify a huge gap in the industry, as well as the type of people I could help the most.
So many of us know what may be “bad” vs. “good” in regards to food & nutrition - yet why do we find ourselves constantly breaking these rules? We blame ourselves, for a lack of self control & zero motivation. We keep telling ourselves “I should just do better” & we do, for a bit. Until we don’t.
The rigid rules & restrictions are where we are going wrong. We are setting ourselves up to fail & confusing ourselves in the process with an overload of misinformation.
Hence the creation of Diet Free Dietitian in 2022. My own journey, combined with years of professional experience, led me to create The Anti Diet Method, a resource designed to help others break free from the diet cycle.
As a professional in the field (and simultaneously running my second business: a team of EAP Dietitians known as Trusted Dietitians), with my own lived in experience of the detrimental effects of diet culture, I want to help you break free from the toxic diet cycle, understand what a balanced diet looks like for you, transform your mindset, build confidence & lose weight for good.
